Rip It Up: anniversary

Leading New Zealand Gothic band Disjecta Membra celebrates Twenty Years

“For Twenty Years, Disjecta Membra have built an enduring reputation as New Zealand’s flagship of Gothic Rock.

This month the band celebrate their 20th Anniversary with the release of their brand new single ‘Death by Discothèque’ – their first new release since 2007 – and two shows supporting legendary Bauhaus front man Peter Murphy’s New Zealand tour dates.

A special pre-release ‘single edit’ version of the song is available now as a free download from Bandcamp, backed by an exclusive remix from world renowned electro-industrial synth-pop giants, Leæther Strip (Denmark).

The full-length version of the single, along with all new remixes from The Mercy Cage (NZ), Attrition (UK) and Non Op Trans (USA) will see release early in 2014, with more new releases to follow.

You can catch Disjecta Membra live, supporting Peter Murphy at The Studio in Auckland on December 14, and at Bodega in Wellington the following night.”

“We cut our teeth playing Bauhaus covers in my mum’s garden shed!” says frontman Michel. “We’re especially thrilled to be opening for Peter Murphy on what will be the final dates of his sold out World Tour”.
